Dress for the light.

Your session is an investment of time and money, so a little outfit planning goes a long way. Three palettes that always look beautiful in Queensland light:

Golden neutrals

Cream, oat, caramel and cocoa. Glows at sunset and never dates.

Eucalyptus

Soft sage to deep gum green, right at home in parks and paddocks.

Blush & dusk

Rose, terracotta and a touch of dusty blue for gentle contrast.

  1. Coordinate, don’t match

    Pick a palette and let everyone wear a different shade of it.

  2. Texture over logos

    Linen, knits and soft florals photograph beautifully. Big logos and slogans don’t.

  3. Dress for movement

    We’ll be walking, sitting and playing, so comfortable shoes are a must.

  4. Layer for little ones

    A cardigan or vest adds depth and keeps small people happy as the sun drops.

How much does a family session cost?

Session 1 is $550 + GST for one family unit (up to 7 people) over one hour. Session 2 is $750 + GST for multiple families over 1.5 hours. Both include all editing, every high-resolution image and travel time.

How long until we see our photos?

Your full collection of high-resolution images arrives in a private online gallery within 2–3 weeks. Every image is fully edited, watermark-free and licensed to you for personal use.

Do you photograph extended families?

Yes! Session 2 is perfect for reunions and milestone birthdays. Just let Katherine know how many people are coming when you enquire.

What happens if it rains?

If the forecast looks poor, Katherine will be in touch the day before and you’ll decide together whether to go ahead. If needed, you simply reschedule.

Where are you located?

Katherine is based in Brisbane and regularly travels to the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast on weekends. There’s no travel fee within 150km of Brisbane, so families have chosen Byron Bay, Boonah and even a favourite Airbnb.

Do you offer in-home sessions?

Yes. Outdoor light is usually the favourite, but in-home sessions are perfect for newborns and babies.
